You call that an extension?

This is old news, but I only read it just now: Information about the extended edition of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

“I’m thrilled that the Extended Edition will give fans the opportunity to experience certain key scenes in the film as they were originally shot, as well as an abundance of special features,” said Jackson. “It’s exciting to present this expanded and enriched version of ‘An Unexpected Journey’ to allow fans to fully immerse themselves in the movie, before seeing the second part of the trilogy.”

And you plan on doing all that with just 13 minutes of extra material!? 13?!?!

I though there was going to be at least half an hour of new scenes and extensions to the old ones. That's what the extended editions of LotR taught me.

Now I'm never going to see the missing rounds of Bilbo's and Gollum's game of riddles. There's no way they're going to use those 13 minutes to extended that scene. :(

Yeah. Maybe I've been spoilt by LotR, but 13 minutes of extra material hardly seems like "an abundance of special features".

Well, there's 9 hours of extra material... But that's not the same. :/

Oh, okay, that explains it. For a moment I thought you were saying 13 minutes of extra material on the whole. That would have been a colossal rip-off.

Oh, yeah, my choice of words was misleading. I didn't realise it before this moment.
